Some of my favorite scriptures

The bible says not to let the sun set while in a provoked state. Which means settle all personal matters since you never know what the next day will bring. Will we or the one we provoked or provoked us still be alive tomorrow to allow us to settle our differences?

James. 1:14, 15 "Each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. The desire, when it has becomes fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death."

James 14-19 You believe there is one God, do you? You are doing quite well. And yet the demons believe and shudder. 20 But do you care to know, O empty man, that faith apart from works is inactive?

2 Pet. 2:2 "Many will follow their acts of loose conduct, and on account of these the way of the truth will be spoken of abusively."

1 Pet. 2:12 "Maintain your conduct fine amoung the nations, that, in the thing in which they are speaking against you as evil-doers, they may as a result of your fine works of which they are eyewitnesses glorify God. In the day for his inspection."

Titus 2:4-8 "Recall the young women to their senses to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sound in mind, chaste, workers at home, good, subjecting themselves to their own husbands, so that the word of God may not be spoken of abusively. Likewise keep on exhorting the younger men to be sound in mind, in all things showing yourself an example of fine works...so that the man on the opposing side may get ashamed, having nothing vile to say about us."

Col. 3:9, 10 "Strip off the old personality with its practices, and clothe yourselves with the new personality, which through accurate knowledge is being made new according to the image of the One who created it."

1 Pet. 5:7 "Throw all your anxiety upon him, because he cares for you."

Jas. 3:14-16 "If you have bitter jealousy and contentiousness in your hearts...This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is the earthly, animal, demonic. For where jealousy and contentiousness are, there disorder and every vile thing are."

Gal. 5:26 "Let us not become egotistical, stirring up competition with one another."

Matt. 10:28 "Do not become fearful of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be in fear of him that can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna."

Prov. 29-25 "Trembling at men is what lays a snare."

Prov. 10:12 "Hatred is what stirs up contentions, but love covers over even all transgressions."Return To Top Of Page

2 Tim. 1:7 "God gave us not a spirit of cowardice, but that of power and of love and of soundness of mind."

Rev. 21:8 "As for the cowards ...their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur. This means the second death."

1 Cor. 13:4 "love is not jealous." Prov. 14:30 "Jealousy is rottenness to the bones."

Prov. 21:25 "The very craving of the lazy will put him to death, for his hands have refused to work." Prov. 19:15 "Laziness causes a deep sleep to fall, and a slack soul goes hungry." Eccl. 10:18 "Through great laziness the beamwork sinks in, and through the letting down of the hands the house leaks."
